Newport Beach, California-Newport Dunes Beach Resort and Marina prepares for the annual bay light show for months.

Engineers Joel and Alonso (they did not reveal their surnames) spent a few days sorting out the lights and cables into boxes. For 12 years, Joel has brought festive joy to the region. He said he likes "this is to make everyone come over and see the light of the bay."

Before the formal lighting, the two will usually work together for several weeks, but assembly work has been going on since September.

Alonso said: "Our main focus is to put everything on the tree before Christmas."

The light of the bay began 31 years ago, when there were only six trees on a floating object. It has now expanded to 50 floats with 100 trees, candlesticks, whales, reindeer and other designs. In addition to being on the water, how will Newport Beach celebrate the holidays?

"Once the lights are on, it's really worth it," Alonso said.

All these lights require a lot of electricity. A long extension cord is connected to each float and hangs down in the water. Joel said they are about "100 feet. We need a longer time because we don't want it to split when the tide is high."

Then they have to plug each power cord into the center, which is a tedious process, but the scene that is worth the holiday will quickly become brighter. This is indeed a unique and typical Southern California show.

The lights will shine every day from sunset to 11:30 in the evening until January 1st. This event is free for everyone.
