The new Eos 2.5 power distribution block can be used in a range of sockets, and the unit... [+] Regulates the power supply to audio and video equipment to improve performance by providing cleaner power.

We HiFi enthusiasts like to squeeze every ounce of performance from our system, whether by upgrading our speaker cables, improving the isolation of our speakers, or even adjusting the power to run our amplifiers, turntables, and streaming media. So, throw away that cheap and nasty power strip and use something better to power your audio settings.

Atlas Cable is a professional cable engineering company based in Kilmarnock, Scotland. I have reviewed the brand’s cables and interconnects before, and the company produces every imaginable variety of well-made and relatively affordable cables. Some people spend crazy money on their audio cables, but I often think this is a problem of diminishing returns. However, a reasonable investment in speaker cables, interconnections, and power cords can produce better sound.

Today, Atlas Cables produces a series of affordable power distribution blocks called Eos Modular 2.5. This product is designed to replace cheap multi-channel power blocks that you might sell in DIY stores or local supermarkets. The Eos Modular 2.5 module is installed in an aluminum chassis with 2.5mm² copper conductor wiring inside. High-quality wiring ensures that the power transmission between the sockets is unimpeded and the resistance loss is minimal.

But why should you pay more than a few dollars for the power distribution block? Of course, all the power block does is power your audio or home theater setup... right? Incorrect! Our home is full of electrical noise, full of various disturbances from various electrical appliances in the home. When it comes to interfering with power circuits, refrigerator noise is notorious. The low-end power distribution blocks and power extension cords that many people use for audio or home theater systems can cause performance degradation.

Atlas Cables Eos 2.5 is available in Shuko and Nemo versions. You can choose rubber or... [+] Conical metal studs are used for isolation devices.

Some cheap power blocks have little or no shielding, and often have noisy neon power indicator lights, fuse holders, and low-grade wires or bus bars, all of which are potential weaknesses. You can read some questions here. Eos 2.5 is a sturdy shielded power expansion module, specially designed and manufactured to provide unimpeded power for any audio setup or components in a home theater system.

Each power socket in Eos 2.5 is installed in a highly conductive aluminum chassis, optimized for low contact resistance and minimum resistance loss. When combined with Atlas Cables Eos dd, Eos 4dd or Eos Superior shielded power cables, significant RFI shielding can be achieved. Rubber bolts or conical nails also provide an additional level of mechanical isolation or coupling, as well as an integral wall mount option.

The integrated direct ground drain path for shielded interconnects and cables uses Atlas Cables' Grun Coherent Earth system, which further reduces the system noise floor and usually eliminates digital "glare", which is a typical example of RFI/EMI noise reduction in audio signals symptom.

If you want to get more from your home entertainment system or TV and AVB receiver, make sure to clean the power source to eliminate buzzing and inattention from the system sound.
