This is probably the craziest second-gen Camaro you'll ever see, but it costs as much as a Lamborghini

When Chevrolet unveiled the second-generation Camaro in 1970 it looked nothing like the first generation. Everything in its design was changed, the overall shape, the stance, and the styling details, but the engine lineup, except for the 3.8-liter six-cylinder engine was carried over. Powerful V-8 engines made the Camaro very successful, but, in the mid-1970s, the world got hit by the "malaise era." It was a combination of the energy crisis fueled by the Arab Oil Embargo and strict Federal emission and safety regulations. For the first time, EPA ratings were just as important as the engine output, so muscle cars, the Camaro included, had to suffer.

The car you see listed here was built right at the beginning of this era by Speedtech for the owner of Speedtech. Why Pro Touring? Well, it is easy: because it comes equipped with race-proven components and a very powerful V-8 engine.

This custom Camaro is powered by a 604-horsepower LS engine. Its displacement was increased to 406 cubic inches by Texas Motor and was updated with a Holley Hi-Ram intake, MSD ignition, Speartech custom wiring harness, and stainless headers. The engine is finished in a combination of black and bronze, with carbon fiber elements making it look a lot more aesthetic. A custom, TIG welded, stainless 3-inch exhaust with crossover pipe and Black Widow mufflers will significantly improve the engine’s sound.

The car was built on a Speedtech Performance extreme chassis and comes with aircraft spec forged aluminum spindles, Sweet Mfg rack & pinion, adjustable splined sway bar, adjustable coilover gas shocks, and a quick ratio steering box.

It is not only the engine that was updated, but also both the exterior and the interior. The exterior, except for the roof, was entirely remade. There is a new carbon fiber bulge hood, and the same material was used for the bumpers, spoilers, mirrors, and wide inner fenders. Both the headlights and taillights were customized with smoked lenses, and it perfectly complements the black finish. The car rides on 18-inch Forgeline wheels measuring 11 inches in width up front and 12 inches in the back. They are finished in bronze and are wrapped in BFGoodrich Rival summer-only performance tires.

The interior comes with matching upholstery on the door panels, back seat, and the racing buckets. As expected, carbon fiber has been extensively used in here too, including on the background of the gauges and the GPS speedometer. The car's safety is increased by a tiger roll bar system with a low sidebar and racing harness for the seats.
