Santec acquires JGR Optics and OptoTest

The acquisition marks Santec's expansion into the growing fiber optic cable assembly testing market.

Santec manufactures a wide range of lasers, optical test equipment and OCT systems. Santec, a manufacturer of optical components, tunable lasers, optical test equipment and OCT systems, announced the acquisition of JGR Optics in Ottawa, Canada and OptoTest in Camarillo, California.

JGR Optics and OptoTest will become Santec's wholly-owned subsidiaries while continuing to operate under their existing brands. According to the terms of the acquisition, the leaders of both acquisitions promised to stay in their respective companies and focus on increasing revenue under the leadership of Santec.

Both JGR Optics and OptoTest provide test solutions for measuring the insertion and return loss of fiber optic cable assemblies and components. The financial terms of the transaction were not disclosed.
