Washington, July 16 (Reuters)-Ford Motor Company (FN) said on Friday that it is recalling approximately 775,000 Ford Explorer SUVs worldwide due to steering issues related to reports of six injuries in North America.

The recall covers vehicles of the 2013-2017 model year. These vehicles may experience a stuck cross-axis ball joint, which may cause the toe link of the rear suspension to break, which may significantly weaken steering control and increase the risk of collision.

The recall involves 676,152 vehicles in North America, 59,935 vehicles in China and 38,600 vehicles in other regions. American vehicles are in a highly rusty state.

The notice to the owners will begin in late August. The dealer will check the horizontal shaft ball joints and replace them if necessary, and replace the toe links with modified parts.

Ford issued two other small-scale recalls on Friday, almost all of which occurred in North America. One is used in 2020-2021 about 35,000 Ford F-350 Super Duty vehicles equipped with a 6.7-liter engine and a single rear axle to solve the welding problem of the spring seat interface of the rear axle housing.

Ford also recalled 41,000 Lincoln Aviator cars for 2020-2021 equipped with 3.0-liter gas engines because the battery cable harness may not be properly secured.

This problem may cause a short circuit and potential fire. Ford is not aware of any accidents, injuries or fires related to the two minor recalls.
